Pair of French 19th Century Louis XIV Style Ormolu Three Arm Sconces
About the Item
A handsome pair of French 19th century Louis XIV st. ormolu sconces. Each beautiful three arm sconce is centered by a wonderfully executed pieced backplate with an impressive beaded satyr, richly chased oak leaves, and acorns. Above is a beautiful finely detailed maiden at the center with a crossed quiver and eternal flame below berried laurel garlands and a large striking palmette reserve in a warm satin and burnished finish. Each elegantly scrolled arm is adorned with fine foliate designs leading to the reeded bobeche and fluted candle cups. All original gilt throughout.
