Pair of French 19th Century Louis XVI St. Five-Arm Ormolu Sconces
About the Item
A striking pair of French 19th century Louis XVI st. five arm ormolu sconces. Each sconce is centered by a richly chased berried acorn inverted finial below the exceptional central support decorated with final foliate movements. The five elegantly scrolled arms are adorned with rich acanthus leaves leading up to most decorative foliate candle cups in a satin and burnished finish. The exceptional back plate displays beautiful floral and foliate designs framed within a striking foliate border and a pierced, tied, berried laurel wreath.
