Pair of French 19th Century Louis XVI Style Giltwood Mirrored Sconces
About the Item
An elegant pair of French 19th Century Louis XVI st. giltwood three-arm mirrored sconces. Each sconce is centered by a fine bottom acorn inverted finial below large acanthus leaves. The three S-scrolled arms display finely carved berried laurel bands and foliate candle cups. A very decorative backplate displays its original mirror, plate-framed within a beaded and mottled border. At the top crown is an impressive eternal flame. With all original gilt throughout.
