A Pair of French Empire Style Ormolu and Bronze Candelabra, Late 19th Century Provenance: Private New South Wales Collection. Description: Each candelabrum consisting of a wall-mounted bronze putto protome emanating from ormolu acanthus leaves above an elongated anthemion, the putto upholding a three-tiered radiating arrangement of thirteen ormolu branches terminating in flame sconces between an upper and a lower bobeche, each branch in the form of a rinceau embellished with tendrils, rosettes and anthemia, with a mask head within a further anthemia design beneath the lower bobeche.
