Pair of French Ormolu wall lights in the Louis XV style.
French, Late 19th century.
Measures: height 45cm, width 40cm, depth 15cm.
Cast in gilt-bronze, and designed in an exuberant, radiant Louis XV style, with interweaving branches and a host of lavish Baroque floral motifs, these excellent wall-lights, though simple in design, resist over-complication, and make a beautiful pair of interior lighting pieces. Each piece holds a trio of candle mounts, and offer a sumptuous taste of bright, antique style to any room in which they are placed.
