About the Item
Magnificent pair of midcentury adjustable wall lamps fully made in curved rattan and hand-woven wicker. These fantastic French Riviera sconces were designed during the 1960s in France and are attributed to Louis Sognot.
These unique sconces are in amzing conditions and have a charming light honey color. The shade of these delightful wall lamps is made in hand-woven wicker and can rotate horizontally. The shade is mounted over a curved rattan arm that is then connected to a cane base.
They come wired and tested, compatible with both US and EU/UK standards and use a single E14 light bulb.
These are beautiful examples of mid-century organic craftsmanship, where rattan and wicker blend perfectly.
A wonderful pair of wall lamps for a mid-century organic project or a French Riviera style porch or garden.

Louis Sognot was a French designer best known for his elegant furniture made from a combination of rattan and wood. Sognot was influenced by Art Deco and Cubist aesthetics, giving his work a unique stylistic touch while still being usable. Born on May 25, 1892 in Paris, France, Sognot studied at École Bernard-Pablissy before working as a designer at the Au Printemps department store in Paris in 1919. The designer became a founding member of the Union des Artistes Decoroteurs. He died in 1970 in Paris, France.
