Pair of French Two-Light Gold Tone Iron Sconces, Mid-20th Century
About the Item
A pair of French two-light gold-tone iron sconces from the mid-20th century. These vintage hand-forged sconces from France each feature a horizontally placed bar, with up-turned tips at each end, providing support to the two ruffled iron bobèches with painted candle sleeves at their centers. The vertical body, which is attached to a round-shaped back-plate, is ornately curled at the top, while lower portion projects outward from the underside of the light bar, and terminates into a lower tip which splays into a Fleur de Lys style design. These iron light fixtures are gold painted forged iron with wonderful patina showing from beneath. This pair of French two-light sconces from the mid-20th century have been wired for the US.
