Pair of Greco Illuminazione Formosa Sconces

About the Item

Pair of articulating "Formosa" wall lamps from Greco Illuminisazione circa 1955. The white half is plexiglas/acrylic. The black half is enameled aluminum. The armature and wall mount are cast aluminum. Each holds a single socket for a standard Edison screw bulb up to 75 watts. This model was famously used by Ico Parisi in his designs for the Hotel Lorena in Grosseto. See images of floating nightstands and of a room divider screen. It is known that Oscar Torlasco designed some lighting for Greco and these do seem to evoke his work but we are unable to confirm. Shown here in the original matte black enamel finish which is distressed. We will refinish the black prior to shipping or will try to match your color request.
