Pair of Italian Early 19th Century Louis XV Style Three-Arm Giltwood Sconces
About the Item
A pair of Italian early 19th century Louis XV st. three-arm giltwood sconces. The sconces with an oval back plate are decorated with richly carved acanthus leaves amidst scrolls. At the top is a central feather spray flanked by grape clusters and vines. At the center is a reserve bordered by a mottled band surrounding foliage. The three 'S' scrolled electrified arms are embellished by acanthus leaves leading to the circular candle bobeches.
