About the Item

A Pair of Large Scandinavian Mid-Century Modern Hand Blown Ice Glass Sconces Attributed to the leading Finnish designer, Tapio Wirkkala, circa 1970. Their shape is a subtle, elliptical form and the aesthetic is pure and modern. The pieces can mount vertically or horizontally and are also designed to also mount on the ceiling as flush mount fixtures. They are in a thick, colorless glass that have been blown to resemble ice. Round nickel finials fasten the glass to the frames at each end. Each sconce is equipped with 2 standard Edison sockets. and there is a backplate which allows the piece to easily attach to the wall or ceiling.
