About the Item
A pair of Playmit nautical brass gimbal lamps.
A wonderful pair of nautical brass gimbal lamps with a the bases supporting articulated, counterweighted arms & with both retaining their original, switched 'matchstick' lamp holders.
The free-moving counterweights were designed to keep the lamps level in rough seas & add a great decorative element.
A handsome, high quality & timeless pair.
Rewired in twisted black flex.

1920's / 30's
Wear commensurate with age as pictured, good condition overall, beautifully untouched with great colour. One lamp has taken a knock to the underside of the counterweight casing as pictured, does nothing to detract as it's not relevant when displayed.
All electrical items should be checked and / or installed by a qualified electrician prior to use & if purchased outside of the UK, may require a rewire..
