About the Item

Pair of wall sconces designed by Philippe Rogier by Luminor/Oxar in the 1970s. Specialized in stainless steel pieces, these sconces are typical of both of their works. They feature stainless steel rectangular structure and three sources of light. The originality and beauty of these is those round springs that are meant to be placed around the bulbs and that are diffusing the light. Philippe Rogier was a French designer active in the 1970s, best known for his sculptural lighting pieces for Oxar. His creations combined stainless steel, chrome, and dynamic geometric forms, embodying the futuristic “Space Age” style. Rogier’s work reflected both technical precision and playful modernism, typical of French design innovation of the era. Oxar was a French lighting manufacturer, originally known as Luminox, active from the 1960s to the early 2000s. The brand specialized in stainless-steel and chrome fixtures with bold, modernist shapes. Collaborating with designers like Philippe Rogier, Oxar became known for its experimental, Space Age aesthetic and high-quality craftsmanship in decorative lighting.
