A pair of wall lights / sconces. Designed by Paul László for Goldwaters Department Store, 1950s. A pair from the commission. Paul László is considered among the most important California-based interior designer/architects of all time. At the height of his career, Paul László was described by TIME magazine as "the Millionaire's Architect". In 1948, Paul László joined with George Nelson, Charles Eames, and Isamu Noguchi to design for the Herman Miller company. Other notable American designers of the era include Edward Wormley, Harvey Probber, T.H. Robsjohn Gibbings.
