Rococo Louis XV Style Pair of Heavy Bronze Wall Sconces

About the Item

This is a Rococo Louis XV style pair of gilt bronze wall sconces. Their main body is made of three short bronze arms at the top embellished with clear pressed crystal rosettes and pendalogues over a cut crystal urn shaped tower that cover a gilt pipe. This crystal tower is joined to a solid rectangular bronze plaque that is attached to a pair of few large gilt bronze scrolls of acanthus leaves. Below the pair scrolls of acanthus leaves, there is a decoration made of two fans of gilt bronze oak leaves and beads. From the plaque come out three gilt bronze “branches”, each one also adorned with a single scroll of acanthus leaf. These “branches” end in a candle holder that has a bobesche below it. Each one of this “branches” is embellished with clear pressed glass rosettes, pendalogues and faceted tear drops that hang from them.
