White stoneware table lamp created by Claire Cosnefroy in 2023 . Each piece is unique, signed, and dated. US and UK electrical wiring available upon request.
This Claire Cosnefroy table lamp, called "Torche," is entirely handcrafted by the artist. She uses locally sourced white clay to support local production circuits. The ceramic technique she employs is called "pinching." After its initial firing, the lamp is glazed with a matte white slip. It emits a soft light.
About the artist: Claire Cosnefroy was born in the Cotentin, from where she keeps a pronounced taste for nature, the austerity of immense beaches, silence, rain. She began her artistic career at
the Atelier de Sèvres then at the ESAA Duperré in Paris and then navigates between fashion and music: her path is therefore established as a permanent bridge between several
places, several worlds, several lives. The encounter a few years ago with the earth upsets her, bringing her new joy and the possibility of a long-awaited reconciliation.
She is therefore fully committed to this path and develops a unique language by shaping sculptural pieces in stoneware and porcelain with a pinch and a coil. Her practice revolves
around the search for an instinctive gesture in a speed of execution, in order to promote a spontaneous shaping of one’s ideas. Far from a will of perfection, she favors simple and raw forms.
