About the Item

Set of four "Gill" wall sconces, three of the same size and one larger piece. These versatile fixtures can be utilized as ceiling lights, wall sconces, or table lamps. Designed by Roberto Pamio in 1962 for Leucos. Roberto Pamio x LEUCOS Roberto Pamio, born in 1937, is a well-known Italian architect and designer. He pursued architectural studies at the Università di Venezia, graduating in 1968 under the mentorship of notable figures such as Carlo Scarpa and Bruno Zevi. Pamio commenced his professional journey in 1961, collaborating with Renato Toso on various furniture and industrial design projects. Their clientele encompassed prominent companies like Zanussi-Rex, Stilwood, Arclinea, and Arflex. A significant aspect of Pamio's career is his collaboration with Leucos, an Italian lighting manufacturer renowned for its innovative glass designs. In 1962, he designed the "Gill" table lamp for Leucos, featuring a blown glass diffuser and a circular metal base. Another notable creation is the "Febo" ceiling lamp from the 1970s, characterized by its thick glass structure. Throughout his career, Pamio's contributions have been recognized with several accolades, including the 1985 Product Design Award in Chicago and the 1987 Compasso d’Oro. He has been a member of the Association of Industrial Design (ADI) since 1984, reflecting his enduring influence in the fields of architecture and design.
