Set of Four Roman 18th Century Giltwood Electrified Mirrored Sconces

About the Item

A spectacular, extremely high quality and unique set of four Roman 18th century giltwood electrified mirrored sconces. At the bottom of each mirror, three S scrolled arms protrude from the charming face of a cherub. Each arm is decorated with acanthus leaves and ends with mottled circular saucers below the gilt metal candle cup. The cherub's face is flanked by foliage and additional winged cherubs above. Each original oval mirror plate is bordered by a reeded mottled border all below the top crown. The top crown has a central elevated platform with a lattice design. Above, is an exquisite open winged eagle wearing a crown. The eagle is flanked by two similar platforms with foliate scrolls. Exceptional and all original gilt throughout.
