About the Item

“When you think about the design of a luminaire, you design everything except the light. You design the shade, the base, etc, but in the end you screw the light in. I wanted to turn that around and start the design process with the qualities of light itself. I worked with the different color temperatures, the change between warm and cool light. The shape is originated from this aspect. On one hand the visual identity of the lamps changes when you adjust the character, and on the other hand you change the atmosphere in the room.”

A plate of acrylic glass is engraved with a pattern that creates in illusion of depth. In the same way as in fiber optics the light is projected into the acrylic glass plate and shines outwards through the engraved lines. The patterns create a diffuse glow and at the same time creates a gradual mixture of colored lines...
