Very rare pair of SABINO Sconces 1930
About the Item
Rare pair of SABINO Sconces 1930
At the base, one crystal disc is enclosed between two white glass plates. The edge of the crystal disc is intentionally jagged to juxtapose the two smooth, flat edges of the glass plates. The base (under the glass plates) is oxidized brown metal.
The structures are refinished in a light yellow lacquer on the front. The back of the structure is kept in its original condition. One of the pictures will show the complete original condition of the sconce structure before refinishing.
These glasses are from the Prince de Galles hotel in Paris.
Originally, these sconces had intricate glass shades instead of the silk shades (one of the pictures will show this).
We sold 4 sconces with the original glass shades. It was the last complete set with the original glass available in the Hotel. It became more convenient for the hotel to have typical lamp shades because the glass was too fragile.

- Condition:very good and vintage condition, the base has been repainted only on the front, custom made shades in two tones.<br /> The wiring has been changed to a new system of two US fluorescent tubes.<br /> You can turn on one or two lights for more or less brightness.<br /> One crystal plate on one of the sconces has a small crack on the side that faces the inside of the shade.
