View Shard Mirrored Glass Wall Sconce by Caroline Chao 'Plug-In Version'

About the Item

VIEW Shard Wall Sconce is part of a five-piece collection of sculptural glass and mirror furniture seeking to bring interactive views into objects and furniture. The collection represents the belief that objects have the capacity to shift perceptions. Views are used to challenge the viewer through intrigue, curiosity, and joy when unexpected visual effects are produced through interaction with the pieces. The pieces change constantly as you live with them - colors may change with the sun angles throughout the day, a reflection may shift when viewed from a different angle, or the piece may create an optical effect that displaces or distorts your reflection in an unexpected way. The user is encouraged to participate in the reflections, in a sense becoming a part of the piece. VIEW Shard Wall Sconce is designed to be used as a decorative wall light, and can also conveniently double as a full-length wall mirror. Due to its angled mirror faces, VIEW Shard Wall Sconce creates a rich array of reflections and adds volume and spatial dynamism to a space when the light is both turned on and off. Materials: glass mirror, wood and composite inner frame Includes: (2) E26 medium base PAR20 LED bulbs 1000 Lumens, 3000K *included bulbs can also be swapped out by customer to adjust for desired brightness or temperature Wall mounting assembly: This piece hangs easily with an included french cleat. VIEW Coffee Table is part of a five-piece collection of sculptural glass and mirror furniture seeking to bring interactive views into objects and furniture. VIEW Coffee Table is made from ultra-clear low-iron glass and mirrored glass base. Through the use of mirrors and dichroics, the view through the base dynamically changes throughout the day, changing color from a deep blue to a teal, blue-purple, and golden tones depending on the view angle and the environment. The collection represents the belief that objects have the capacity to shift perceptions.
