About the Item
Gorgeous high quality table or desk lamp in polished nickel plated brass from Italy, 1940s-1950s with a weighted round base and an enormous ball joint from which the sturdy stem can pivot ~140 x 360 degrees. The round domed mushroom head is also attached to the stem by a similar swivel joint so you are assured being able to position this lamp to provide you optimal lighting. Inside the shade is an S cluster with two E27 sockets each of which takes a standard size Edison screw cap bulb up to 75 watts each.
Produced by Lariolux with the design often incorrectly attributed to Giovanni Michelucci.
Push button on-off switch on base.
This is a beautiful lamp that straddles the design periods of Art Deco and Mid-Century Modern.
Lariolux lamp was presented in 1937 by the company Ottonameria Lecchese at the "Quarta Mostra Quinquennale di Lecco” (Fourth Quinquennial Exhibition of Lecco)
