1960s Tall Mid-Century Modern Walnut Ceramic Table Lamps Pair

About the Item

A beautiful pair of vintage Danish Modern style pottery table lamps with original drum shades, circa 1960s. They feature white ceramic urn or bottle form bases with brown and tan vertical stripes on solid walnut stands and turned walnut necks. The lamps are fitted with large, tall neutral tone drum shades. Measurements: Overall measurements with shades 16in W x 15in D x 42.5in H to top of shade (height to the top of socket 28.5in tall) (height to the top of finial 39in tall ) The cream drum shades measure 19in tall x 15in diameter top x 16in diameter bottom (The diameter of bases 6in ).

Rare hard to find vintage 1960s incised stoneware pottery table lamp designed by ceramicist husband and wife duo Jane and Gordon Martz of Marshall Studios, in Veedersburg, Indiana. The incised motif was first issued in catalog 16 from the 60s. This distinct design was publicized in the Marshall Studios 1974 Catalog No.35. The stoneware is rendered in deep gold, with a tan abstract incised motif. The base is slip-cast and then dipped into glaze. Signed “Martz” on the lower backside. It features their classic slightly tapered cylindrical ceramic base with original final and original drum shade, incised motif detail at the top, the design also consists of a magnificent teak neck with matching classic Martz teak finial, opting for an upgrade from walnut.
