Pair of 19th century carved oak lion lamps Beautiful pair of carved oak lion lamps with frosted glass flame shade. This 19th century pair of table lamps each features a lion sitting proudly on a grey slate base, propped on its front legs, with its imposing stature and royal beauty (since ancient times, the lion has served as a symbol of majestic power). The fine detailing of the wavy curls in his mane along with the masterly treatment of his anatomy command admiration and would make this pair of carved oak lion lamps, a stately accent to any home, perhaps flanking a sofa in a traditional living room.

Rewired: Both Lamps have been rewired with 3 core (earthed) braided cable, in line rocker switches, new lampholders (bayonet B22 light bulb fitting), new UK 3 pin plug, all complying with British standards. Wear consistent with age and use.
