About the Item
There is little more inspiring than that glorious dawn of airship travel. This hand made lamp by Sam Rush captures the essence of that age, and instantly gives any desk a rare distinction.
The lighting is set from a single bulb shielding the eyes whilst desk working, but also allowing the lamp to function (on a shelf, for example) sculpturally, having a pleasing form in daylight, but completely defining a part of a room in the evening.
The lamp is made of brazed brass with the body of the airship being nickel silver. Other components are stainless steel. The nickel silver an brass have a light lacquer to protect from oxidisation.
Sam Rush is the sole designer and maker of these lamps and deliberately does not employ staff or outsource manufacture. With his work, Sam is deliberately keeping operations small and select, he is quoted as saying "Money is never a motivation... only the lack of it is a hinderance" . Sam is happy to answer any questions regarding his work.
All lamps are certified under CE and UKCA. and are LU compatible.
