This unique and striking Art Deco Table Light in Caste Bronze with Marquina Marble Base and Hand-Blown Glass Shade is by the artist Maurice Frecourt, originating from France, Circa 1925. Featuring a stylized cormorant rendered in caste bronze perched on a sculptural base resembling part of a stone cliff or rock formation, the figure rests calmly glancing slightly upward, illuminated beautifully by the light of the spherical hand-blown glass element. A lovely balance of textures and material quality among the marble base, hand-blown glass shade, and caste Bronze of the cormorant, this piece will serve beautifully as a table light on a desk, bookshelf, or anywhere calling for a touch of sophistication and well balanced detail. Signed Maurice Frecourt on the base of the caste bronze cormorant. This piece will style beautifully in a wide array of interiors and settings, from Art Deco to Mid-Century Modernist and Contemporary Interiors. Newly rewired to American Standards, and in Excellent Vintage Condition.
