Art Deco Table Lamp, Boch Frères Iznik Decor, New Exclusive Pierre Frey Shade

Lovingly handcrafted by Amitābha Studio in Amsterdam from an antique Boch Frères Keramis vase (Model 1118, circa 1920–1930) designed by Charles Catteau, this one-of-a-kind table lamp transforms the iconic Art Deco “pineapple” vase. We’ve paired the vase base with a new bespoke hand-pleated lampshade made from hand-woven, hand-dyed Ikat cotton-silk fabric crafted on traditional Uzbek looms. We’ve also added a matching green cord. The lamp was created without harming the original vase in any way. This ceramic vase—commonly referred to as the pineapple vase—was produced by Boch Frères Keramis in La Louvière, Belgium between 1920 and 1930. Designed by Charles Catteau, the vase features a repeating geometric relief pattern molded into its ovoid form and finished with a fine ivory craquelure glaze. The enamel is slightly grainy with a beautiful shine. The tapered shape gives it a great elegance. The ceramic measures 23 cm, 41 cm with the lampshade. The diameter of the ceramic is 9 cm. Founded in 1841, it markets its products under the name Keramis. The factory was founded in 1841 by Eugène and Victor Boch, descendants of a family of earthenware makers since the 18th century.
