About the Item
A legend in its own right, this brass and glass table lamp has been a favorite of collectors since the 1970s. It features a brass base, with hanging glass rods surrounding the sides. This piece is in excellent condition for its age and will bring the touch of modernism to any room.
About the designer:
Gaetano Sciolari was born in 1927. Upon graduating with a degree in architecture, he began training as a film director. However, when his father died unexpectedly in 1949, Sciolari returned home to run the family business, Sciolari Lighting.
In the 1950s, Sciolari became the in-house designer for legendary lighting manufacturer Stilnovo founded by designer Bruno Gatti in Milan in 1946. Sciolari, maintained his attraction to more traditional expressions, often employing opaline glass, perspex, and brass.
