About the Item
A 1930's Bauhaus German Mushroom Shaped Desk Lamp. Model 6563 by Christian Dell manufactured by Kaiser Idell. The lamp shade is enameled in a black and has a mushroom shape that encompasses the light source. It comes with original wiring and is for one light bulb.
Christian Dell (1893-1974) was an early industrial designer who specialized in lighting sources. As a pioneer of Bauhaus design he revolutionized the materials and uses of light fixtures. His background in silvering helped him incorporate organic shapes and movements into the functional pieces he designed for Kaiser Idell. His early designs and many to come later became symbols of noble Germanic design, exquisite choice of materials and precise engineering.
