About the Item

Handsome iconic ceramic lamp by Christopher Spitzmiller in his white blanc de chine color and glaze and the large size three ball design with the Spitzmiller label. It is in fabulous vintage condition with no flaws we have discovered. It does not have its original shade. We will include the shade we photograph it wearing or if you do not want it, we will deduct $100 from the price, circa early 21st century. When I found this lamp, I was not familiar with Christopher Spitzmiller. I should have been. I just knew it was gorgeous and very well executed. I learned quickly, his lamps are phenomenal and have become immediate classics. This example is called the Three Ball in the large size and blanc de chine color. Its shape is exactly what the name suggests three graduated stacked balls sitting atop a hand-turned wood base that has been water gilded with 23k yellow gold and topped with a brass double socket cluster. We have added the beautiful silk-like fabric drum shade in a buff color which accents the white of the lamp and gold of the base perfectly. There isn’t a style or table this lamp will not look fantastic with or sitting upon! Christopher Spitzmiller began his career in 1996 in Georgetown, Washington, D.C. and his one-of-a-kind lamps quickly became instant classics sought after by designers such as Albert Hadley and Richard Keith Langham. In 1999 he moved to New York City and expanded his workshop with a crew of skilled craftspeople. His work has been featured in most major design magazines as well as The New York Times and Wall Street Journal. He produced lamps for Obama’s Oval Office and many other distinguished American homes. With his success in lamps he has expanded his repertoire to include tableware, decorative accessories, mirrors and furniture. We know you have fallen in love with this lamp.
