French Bronze Art Deco Table Lamp Signed by Leunox, France. Opaline Glass Shade
About the Item
Circa 1930's French Art Deco Table Lamp with a Solid Bronze frame, and it's Seashell motif Opaline shade signed by Leunox, France. Recently re-wired for the US market and there have been no visible repairs, nor does it require any. Opaline glass began in France around 1810 and tends to resembles the milk glass of 16th-century Venice. By the mid-19th century, opaline was made in more vivid colours and was also produced in the form of crystal, semi-crystal, glass, and pâte-de-riz (glass made by firing glass powder in a mold). During the 1830' it was copied at Baccarat and Saint-Louis.
