About the Item
Classic sleek Danish mid century modern bone white table lamp by designer Einar Johansen for Danish Søholm Stentøj. Fully glazed on a maze like geometric pattern and smooth neck. Marked with designer's signature logo and model no. under base. Model 1039. Switch on white fitting for E27 bulb. Beautiful vintage condition.
Denmark, 1960s.
In 1958, Einar Johansen started working for the well established Søholm Stentøj on the Danish island of Bornholm. His vast production is among the most popular by Søholm of that period, often using softly shaped designs and vivid colors. Søholm is known for its use of dark blues and browns, whereas Johansen tended towards a brighter palette which makes his designs more timeless compared to other ceramic designs of the 1960s. Einar Johansen stopped working for Søholm Stentøj in 1971.
