Handcrafted from authentic bricola wood — the historic oak posts that guide boats through the Venice Lagoon — this pair of sculptural lamps by Treviso-based artist Davide Moretto transforms reclaimed material into luminous contemporary art.
Each piece is carved from solid Venetian oak that spent decades exposed to salt, wind, and tide, developing a distinctive patina and natural fissures that bear witness to its maritime life. The upper portion preserves its original golden finish, a rare feature suggesting that this bricola once served as a mooring post for a luxurious Venetian hotel or palace.
Moretto’s work reflects the poetic heritage of Venetian craftsmanship, echoing the material sensitivity of Carlo Scarpa’s architectural language while embracing the experimental freedom of Gaetano Pesce and the expressive tactility of Giuseppe Rivadossi.

Davide Moretto is an artist-designer whose work sits at the intersection of art, design, and craftsmanship.
