Desvres Faience Delft Table Lamp (1850) by Louis Fourmaintraux, New Velvet Shade
About the Item
Meticulously handcrafted by Amitābha Studio in Amsterdam, the Louis table lamp is a one-of-a-kind creation, reimagined from a 19th-century Desvres, France faience vase by renowned artisan Louis Fourmaintraux (circa 1850). Celebrating the rich tradition of Delftware-inspired ceramics, the vase showcases intricate hand-painted motifs in a vibrant polychrome palette of cobalt blue, green, and warm orange set against a crisp white background. This elegant design reflects the 19th-century European revival of 17th-century Dutch ceramic artistry, a hallmark of Fourmaintraux’s craftsmanship and his contribution to the enduring legacy of Desvres faience.
The lamp is paired with a bespoke lampshade crafted from slate blue velvet, its deep hue perfectly complementing the vivid tones of the base while adding a modern touch to this historic piece. The harmonious pairing creates a refined yet striking presence, making Louis an ideal statement piece for sophisticated interiors.
The lamp was created without harming the original vase in any way, ensuring its historical integrity is preserved. Perfect for collectors or admirers of European ceramic artistry, this table lamp seamlessly blends antique charm with functional elegance, bringing timeless beauty to any living room, bedroom, or curated space.
Please note, the lamp is fully wired for use in the U.S. Additionally, the listed height includes the lampshade. We also ensure compatibility for global use by offering a free plug customization service to match the electrical standards of your specific country.
