Diego Giacometti style wrought iron table lamp - 1950s - Italy - Brutalist style

About the Item

Sublime wrought iron table lamp inspiring the graceful sculptural style of Diego Giacometti, Claude and François Xavier Lalanne highlighting their talent for proportions and shapes. . It has a superb brown patina and the work of this lamp is hammered in places. . The middle of the central shaft is reminiscent of the Master's Giacometti star lamp. . The balance is perfect, blurring the boundary between functional object and brutalist sculpture. . This lamp is completely in the spirit embodied in the exceptional craftsmanship and elegant functionality that distinguished the creations of the talented Giacometti brothers and their mastery of expressionist style. . Dimensions : Wrought iron bronze lamp base : 36.5 cm Round foot diameter : 11.5 cm Socket : height 7.5 cm Lampshade height : 25 cm Shade top diameter : 30 cm Bottom diameter of the lampshade : 40 cm Total height with lampshade : approximately 60 cm Weight : 3 kgs . As you can see in two photos, the electrification needs to be redone. The electrification cable is stuck (the lamp is more than 70 years old) and, as a precaution, I did not unscrew the screw under the foot in order to reposition a new electric cable. At the top of the barrel the cables are not long enough to make a connection. It will therefore be necessary to redo the electrification. The lighting you see in the photos was achieved by putting a portable LED lamp under the lampshade so you can see what it looks like when lit. The lighting will be much more beautiful and brighter after redoing it.
