About the Item

Meticulously handcrafted by Amitābha Studio in Amsterdam from an antique Arnhemsche Fayencefabriek vase (circa 1910-1917), Lindus is a one-of-a-kind table lamp that exhibits characteristics of both Art Nouveau and early Art Deco styles. This unique piece features a distinctive matte glaze with a band of Iznik Ottoman-inspired tulips and carnations, reflecting the superb artistry of its era. We've paired the vase base with a new contemporary, soft white lampshade to put the focus on the vase base along with a sage cord. The lamp was created without harming the original vase in any way. The Lindus decor, which lends its name to this lamp, was produced during a time of artistic innovation at the Arnhemsche Fayencefabriek. This Dutch pottery factory, renowned for its blend of traditional craftsmanship and modern design, significantly influenced the art pottery movement of the early 20th century. The Lindus vase which serves as the base of this lamp embodies a blend of Art Nouveau's organic, flowing lines and floral motifs, graphic geometric bands characteristic of Art Deco, along with Ottoman Iznik pottery's vibrant yet harmonious colors.
