Empire Figural Parcel Gilt Bronze Three Light Candelabrum
About the Item
Crisply modelled as a standing godess, supporting ebonised and gilt arms, her slender body clad in a clinging toga with gilt tassels , arm bands, and sandals. She stands on an elaborate tapering square base base applied with gilt mounts and raised on a gilt shaped square base modelled with recumbent winged lions.
This fine lamp is both strikingly handsome with the elegant female figure but also has playful aspect with putti and attendants appllied to the base. The winged lions, rams heads and applied ormnament are all contributors to the subtle and ornamental effect that is so powerfully acheived
