This sculptural lamp by Michael Oates is a meditation on form and illumination. Hand-carved from a single piece of American Black Walnut, its fluid, organic silhouette is both grounding and gestural, rising into a custom hand-blown white glass shade that softly diffuses light like a glowing bloom. Purposeful incisions in the wood reveal subtle anatomical and spiritual cues—hallmarks of Oates’ Numinous series, which explores ritual, presence, and material poetry. The piece features custom brass fittings and was exhibited with Objective Gallery at Design Miami 2024, placing it among some of the most cutting-edge collectible design.
