About the Item

Pair of gilt and silver brass candlesticks. Molded round base with silver varnish topped with a cylindrical plexiglass shaft with two gilt brass rings at each end. Candlesticks finished with silver varnish cup and binet. Swedish work realized in the 1960s by the designer Estrid Ericson. Estrid Ericson (1894-1987), Swedish designer, created her design firm in the 1920s and has a strong success quickly. In 1934, she hired the Austrian architect and designer Joseph Frank; together, they transformed sober and strict functionalism in something pleasant and elegant. She used low-priced materials, as pewter, to create an affordable price design. She is inspired by many shapes and loved to combine old and modern stuff to create refined new items.
