Fat Lava Brown and Red Ceramic Table Lamp, West-Germany

About the Item

'Fat Lava' style ceramic table lamp with brown with red and orange glaze. Manufactured in West-Germany in the 1970's. The style of the glaze is in between 'Fat Lava' and 'Drip glaze'. Which means the glaze is thick on some parts, and one glaze runs down over another glaze. A typical way to finish ceramic pottery in mid-century West-Germany. With a special custom made lamp shade by René Houben. With a gold or bronze inner shade. The lamp is in perfect vintage condition. The price is for both the ceramic base and the shade! René Houben is a renowned Dutch light designer. René has been designing unique lamp shades for more than 25 years. From colorful and exuberant to modest. For every extraordinary lamp base (carefully selected antique and vintage items), he designs an applicable shade. His custom made creations are unique because of his interesting use of form and color. They also stand out because of their indirect, soothing and intimate light. Houben is well known and loved by interior designers and decorators all over Europe.
