About the Item

This bronze table lamp is carved in brass with a black leather lampshade, two arms and carved details. It is our reinterpretation of a 19th century Louis XVI Bouillotte lamp and the designs in the arms and top details are inspired by the study and research of French lighting fixtures. Originally, the Bouillotte lamp was created for playrooms, and it takes its name from a card game, la bouillotte. It is made up of two or three candlesticks. In order to bring the shade up to the height of the candles, the size of the lamp is adjustable by a screw system. The lamp was most often fitted with a bowl-shaped base intended to receive, a small portion of the tokens which were generally intended for house staff at the end of the game. It is available in different finishes, you can inquire via message.

Brass table lamp with painted red brass shade. This lamp is in a style that we call eclectic historical, combining Egyptian, Roman, English and neo classical elements. The history of eclectic style spans all the way back to the 18th century. The word eclecticism actually comes from the Greek word “eklektikos.” It was commonly used in philosophy and encouraged picking the best doctrines from multiple schools of thought, then combining them to create a completely unique school of thought, specific to the person choosing the doctrines. The influence of the ancient cultures...
