About the Item

A striking French 19th century Louis Philippe period patinated bronze and ormolu bouillotte lamp. The four arm lamp is raised by an elegant circular patinated bronze base with beautiful foliate fluted designs in a superb satin and burnished finish. The central support displays a lovely foliate ormolu reserve with a fine hammered design from where the four most decorative arms with striking scrolled foliate designs branch out leading to remarkable ormolu candle cups with foliate, beaded and diamond shaped candle cups. Above is the original tole shade which is adjustable in height and secured by a beautiful ormolu fletching all below a top foliate finial. All original gilt and patina throughout.
