French, 19th Century, Louis XV St. Ormolu and Alabaster Lamp
About the Item
An exceptional and most unique French, 19th century, Louis XV St. Ormolu and Alabaster lamp. The lamp is raised by a beautiful pierced scrolled foliate ormolu base with richly chased designs in a superb satin and burnished finish. The alabaster central support depicts a charming wonderfully executed young girl swinging from a grape vine interlocked around the circular column support and displaying finely detailed grape clusters and etched leaves. Above is an elegant pierced ormolu top cap with intricately detailed foliate and hammered designs.
