About the Item
A high quality French 19th century Louis XVI st. Onyx and Cloisonné lamp. The lamp is raised by half round ormolu feet below a square onyx base with concave corners and mottled edges. The wonderful body is solid onyx with rich veining throughout. The socle and the neck of the lamp are decorated with a stunning Cloisonné design with rich colors and details.
Cloisonné: Decorative work in which enamel, cut gemstones or glass are inlaid on metal amidst silver or gold wires strip borders.
