French 19th century Louis XVI st. Ormolu and Tole Bouillotte lamp
About the Item
An attractive and most decorative French 19th century Louis XVI st. Ormolu and Tole Bouillotte lamp. This exquisite three light lamp is raised by a beautiful pierced circular bowl with twisted designed edges and supported on four paw feet. At the center are three curved reeded bands with scrolling foliate decorations and a circular reserve with reeded patters and beaded Ormolu bands. These bands lead upward to the three arms with their circular bobeches and foliate decorated candle cups. In the center between the three electrified arms is an urn shaped reserve with an acorn finial. The urn is tastefully decorated by dentil patterns and additional foliate designs before introducing the square Iron central fut. Above is the original patinated Tole shade which is adjustable in height and secured by a beautiful Ormolu screw with a charming heart shaped design and a top hoop finial.
