French Mid-Century Cast Bronze Sphinx Table Lamp by Maison Le Dauphin 1970s

About the Item

French mid-century bronze cast sphinx table lamp by Maison Le Dauphin 1970s. The sphinx sits gracefully and upright on the rectangular, open-pored travertine base (18 x 9 x 4 cm). The back of the base has a small black and gold label with "Le Dauphin-France". The figure has a fine geometric motif on its chest and head, with linear decoration on its wings. The face is beautiful and even. The surface of the bronze is green-grey and rust-colored. The brass arm comes up behind the figure and leads up into the socket. The object has a slightly conical silk shade (25x24x25cm) in ivory, lined white on the inside so that the light can pass through the shade. The slightly structured silk matches the stone and the object perfectly and complements each other elegantly. There is 1 socket in the lamp.
