About
Impressive pair of characteristically neoclassical black and gold urn form table lamps on marble pedestals and topped with fluted crystal fonts. The gilt bronze decorative "urn handles" are indeed fanciful swirled acanthus ormolu mounts adorned with the bay laurel draped faces of beautiful muses. The classically fluted crystal font catches and reflects the light from inside the pleated silk shade. From France, circa 1820.
