About the Item

Gino Marotta was born in 1935. At fifteen he moved to Rome, where he came into contact with the artists who animated the Roman scene, such as De Chirico. He based his long artistic life on the exploration of new languages and constant experimentation with new techniques and innovative materials, sharing his research with the many avant-garde movements that followed since the 1950s. Methacrylate for Marotta becomes a privileged medium. He describes it as "the only material that does not degenerate, because it is highly technological." Transparency, until then the prerogative of noble materials such as glass, is transferred to this new artificial material. As example of this research, this light sculpture is a play with light and colours, infact once you light on the lamp it is possible to make change the colour of the "drops" on the panel and you can change the vision of it moving around it. Very good condition, fully original, fully working.
