About the Item
A studio pottery table lamp in glazed terracotta, England, circa 1980s. Handcrafted by Graeme James in his Chipping Campden workshop, the piece combines terracotta and stoneware, using the traditional wax resist glazing technique. Areas of raw clay are intentionally exposed, revealing expressive brushwork beneath a soft, semi-matte glaze.
The palette is warm and earthy, with tonal variation across the surface. Modest in scale but sculptural in presence, the lamp reflects the British studio pottery movement’s emphasis on tactile form and functional craft.
The base is artist-signed to the underside.

Very good vintage condition. One small glaze nick to the upper rim. In working order, though PAT testing or UL certification is recommended prior to use.
