About the Item

Handmade Steel Sculpture This series of vintage objects, created by artist Roberto Romero, is part of his personal journey as an itinerant artist who has traveled the world. Each piece reflects his deep connection to culture, craftsmanship, and sustainability. The sculptures are handmade by skilled carnival artisans from the legendary Samba schools of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The steel used is primarily recycled from discarded materials—remnants of costumes and float structures from Carnival festivities. This gives the work not only a distinct character, but also a strong sustainable foundation. Produced in limited quantities, each sculpture—though sometimes repeating a design—is one of a kind. All are finished with electrostatic painting, ensuring long-lasting durability and a refined quality finish. Roberto Romero’s sculptures have been featured in art, design, and architecture exhibitions across Brazil, Argentina, and New York City, USA. In September 2025, they were proudly presented at the prestigious Maison & Objet Fair in Paris, recognized as part of the Brazilian Design Trend of the Year during Paris Design Week. Each piece comes with a certificate of authenticity, personally signed by Roberto Romero, guaranteeing its originality and craftsmanship.
