About the Item

A rare and beautiful Art Deco / Swedish Grace sculptural earthenware table lamp with amazing glaze. Made by an unknown artist at S:t Erik Lervaufabriker, Uppsala, Sweden, 1910s-1920s. Great original condition. Signed 'S:T ERIK UPSALA'. Sold with later lampshade. Dimensions of the lamp (without the shade): Height (incl. the socket): 31 cm (12.2 in.) Diameter: 11,5 cm (4.5 in.) Dimensions of the shade: Height: 14,5 cm (5.7 in.) Diameter: 25,5 cm (10 in.) Light source: E26/E27 screw bulb. Switch on the cord. AB S:t Eriks Lervarufabiker was a ceramics workshop and brickworks in Uppsala between 1888 and 1962. Household goods by Agda Österberg were produced for the Home Exhibition in 1917. In the 1920s and 1930s, artistic ceramics were produced. A number of famous artists worked at the factory during its heyday, including Sven Boberg, Edvin Ollers 1925–1927, Anna-Lisa Thomson, Märta Ankarswärd-Grönvall, Hildur Haggård, Gertrud Lönegren 1932–1936, Maggie Wibom 1935–1936 and Greta Runeborg-Tell 1935–1937. In 1937, the tile and ceramic factory was sold to Uppsala-Ekeby AB
